Lochlan’s Legacy Ukraine Appeal collection

Lochlan’s Legacy, a charity founded by the family of Kilmarnock fan Lochlan Murdoch, is holding an appeal for supplies to support people with diabetes in Ukraine.

Kilmarnock FC is supporting the effort with a new collection point set up outside the barrier wall at the Moffat Stand for supporters from 1pm on Saturday, March 5 to assist with materials, which can make a real difference to people with the condition in the country.

Working with Type One Style, Lochlan’s Legacy will deliver supplies to allow them to be distributed to those in need.

What is required

  • Donate test strips, spare glucose meters, lancets, and other supplies.
  • Donate sweets and non-perishables. In the absence of food, or means to cook food, diabetics face hypoglycemia. Long-life sweets like jelly babies, haribo, chocolate, moams, are important to keep sugars topped up and are easily carried and kept.
  • Donate small powerbanks. Powerbanks can help diabetics stay in touch with their families, but also to charge their receivers and phones, and more, to keep their CGMs and pumps running and stay safe. We will charge them before we ship them.

Please do not donate insulin without contacting the charity first. You can reach them via email Lesley@lochlanslegacy.co.uk
