Kilmarnock 4-0 Partick Thistle | SPFL cinch Reserve Cup

A strong Kilmarnock side featuring the likes of Blair Alston, Jordan Jones, Calum Waters, Kerr McInroy and Dylan McGowan kicked off the club’s SPFL cinch Reserve Cup campaign with a 4-0 victory at home to Partick Thistle this afternoon.

Fresh from scoring a double against Montrose in the SPFL Trust Trophy on Saturday, Steven Warnock extended his impressive goalscoring record when he put the home side ahead moments before half-time.

A first three points of the group stage were all but secured as Warnock scored his fourth goal in as many days when his right-footed strike from just inside box found the top corner with 15 minutes remaining.

Substitute Bobby Wales also got himself on the scoresheet after he quickly reacted to a shot parried into his path by the Partick ‘keeper, turning the ball home from a tight angle.

A fine individual and team performance was then rounded off by Kilmarnock’s key man Warnock as he grabbed his hat-trick two minutes before the final whistle.
