Kilmarnock Standard launch ‘Player of the Month’ Award

This season, the Kilmarnock Standard is placing you in charge of selecting the men’s first team squad’s Player of the Month award!

Firstly, it’s time to have your say on who impressed most in the month of August. We rounded off a challenging league and cup schedule very strongly, picking up a first league win of the campaign at home against Motherwell, before travelling to the capital four days later where an excellent display saw us progress to the quarter-finals of the Premier Sports Cup.

Let’s take a look at the individuals that have made the Player of the Month shortlist:

First up is Ash Taylor who has continued his excellent form from last season. Now holding an integral role in our back line, Ash was a key part of our defence’s sensational performance which safeguarded a clean sheet in the 1-0 Premier Sports Cup victory against Hearts.

Our goalscorer from that night at Tynecastle, Innes Cameron, also makes the shortlist having spearheaded our attack with his characteristic power and perpetual determination.

Next up is Ryan Alebiosu. Our new full-back has settled into life at Rugby Park since joining on-loan from Arsenal, quickly catching the eye of the fans with electrifying pace and a desire to carry the ball forward. Has he earned your vote?

Liam Polworth completes the shortlist after carving his own spot in the centre of the park following a number of impressive performances, particularly the home win against Motherwell which saw him earn a place in the SPFL Team of the Week.
