Kilmarnock 4-0 East Fife
Kilmarnock won their Premier Sports Cup group in style with a 4-0 victory against East Fife.
Ben Brannan’s fantastic brace was complemented by goals from Djenairo Daniels and Marcus Dackers.
A fantastic through ball from Liam Polworth sent David Watson in on goal, his shot was well saved by Matthew Rollo and Jamie Brandon fired over a rebound.
It didn’t take long for Killie to find a lead though as Brandon’s good work down the right wing led to a cross to Marcus Dackers who fired home from close range in the 12th minute.
Three minutes later it was 2-0 as Brandon assisted again – this time it was Djenairo Daniels who was on the end of it to score.
Alan Trouten spotted Eddie Beach off his line and attempted an audacious lob from the halfway line, but it veered wide of the target.
Ben Brannan scored a wonderful curling effort in the 25th minute to make it 3-0 and put Killie into cruise control.
East Fife’s Nathan Austin had good chance in the 36th minute as he found himself through on goal, but his chance went wide of the target.
Just minutes after half-time Brannan doubled his tally with another fine strike, this time from 20 yards into the bottom corner.
Watson tried his luck from distance in the 55th minute with a powerful shot, it was agonisingly close though as it smacked the crossbar.
