Kilmarnock FC U19 3-1 Celtic FC U19 – CAS Elite League Cup
Kilmarnock’s Under-19s delivered an attacking masterclass at Rugby Park, defeating Celtic 3-1 in a thrilling CAS Elite League Cup tie on Monday, 5 January 2026.
Killie started on the front foot, with Reece Craig firing an early chance wide before Aaron Davis surged forward and delivered a pinpoint cross to captain Archie Traynor. His composed finish into the bottom right corner gave the hosts a 1-0 lead on the 17th minute. Celtic responded during a scrappy spell and levelled before the break, making it 1-1 at half-time.
The second half began with Celtic pressing hard, but Kilmarnock’s defensive resilience shut down any threat. Adam Law created several chances, while Noah Simpson stayed lively in attack. His persistence paid off when he back-heeled the ball through the goalkeeper’s legs from a corner, restoring Killie’s advantage in style.
Kilmarnock weren’t done yet. After Davis won another corner in the 70th minute, Celtic’s keeper denied a third goal, but fresh legs from substitute Connor Sweeney made an instant impact. His sublime pass released Cole Coughlin, who rounded the goalkeeper and slotted home for 3-1. Late changes saw Cody Martin replace Law and Jonathan Orr come on for Logan Foster, as Killie saw out the match comfortably.
