Kelty Hearts 0-0 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock slipped up in their pursuit of a seeded spot in the Premier Sports Cup last 16 with a 0-0 draw away to Kelty Hearts.

Despite losing on penalties to the New Central Park side, Killie can still top the group and progress with a victory against East Fife.

Corrie Ndaba went close in the 11th minute as he jumped highest to head towards goal, his effort was well saved by Ryan Adamson though.

Bruce Anderson was next to trouble Adamson as he smashed a low effort from 20 yards after 22 minutes, but again the Kelty goalkeeper was alert to get down and hold the shot.

Ndaba had another powerful header a couple of minutes later after a Greg Kiltie corner, but it was well saved by Adamson once again.

Rory McKenzie and Anderson were next to have chances, but neither could find the target with their efforts.

The hosts had a golden chance in the 53rd minute as Innes Murray fired away a curling shot, but he saw it fall narrowly wide.

Jamie Brandon went close just after the hour mark with a powerful shot, unfortunately for the defender it flew over by inches.

Killie continued to pile on the pressure and next it was Tom Lowery who was next in line for a shot, he drove in towards the edge of the area before seeing his effort saved well.

The game then fizzled out to a goalless draw, it then headed to penalties with Kelty taking the bonus point with a 4-3 shootout win.
