KCST in the community: walking school bus

The Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust and Precision Tooling are on to another winner this week: providing a walking school bus for young pupils at Shortlees Primary as the club forges stronger connections with the community.

Thanks to the support of Graeme Ross and Allan Brese from Precision:  school and KCST staff help provide local kids a safe trip to school, picking up kids along the way as they all walk together – they’re then provided with a  nutritious breakfast to help them tackle the day.

It’s one of many projects that’s been funded with support from Precision, and KCST’S community support officer Grant Moore knows how critical such funding is.

With plenty more projects already underway as KCST get out and about, Grant hopes that club to community bond will keep on growing.

“We can’t thank Graeme and Allan enough for their continued support and extremely generous donations to make these programmes possible,” he told the club’s official website.

“They constantly ask us if we need help and we align with the vision to help and support our local community.

“The Walking Bus is a fantastic initiative and helps get youngsters to school safely and on time, giving them the fuel they need to start the day. The support from Precision Tooling is helping us create stronger links across Ayrshire which will help us go from strength to strength going forward”.
