Joe Hugill extends Killie contract

Kilmarnock Football Club is elated to announce a contract extension for Joe Hugill.

Our new No.9 has agreed fresh terms, which sees his deal run until the summer of 2028.

The 22-year-old joined Killie in a permanent transfer from Manchester United in January this year. He initially joined on an 18-month contract.

Since biding his time to become a key figure in Neil McCann’s side, Hugill earned his spot as the club’s joint-top goalscorer for the 2025/26 campaign in a sensational display of form in the final months.

He finished level on eight goals for the season, alongside Tyreece John-Jules, having also contributed two assists in his 15 appearances, as he quickly became a fans’ favourite.

This form saw admiring glances cast in his direction early into his time at BBSP Stadium Rugby Park.

Such as the excitement felt around the club heading into the 2026/27 season, with the management team continuing to work tirelessly into shaping the squad, the completion of phase one of Bowie Park and a brand-new hybrid, grass pitch at the stadium – all of which has come at significant investment – Joe agreed he was in the right place to continue his development under the stewardship of McCann, Billy Dodds and our other first team coaches, and was happy to commit to another year on his deal.

Joe wore the number 44, but with his new contract now officially announced, we can confirm he is our new No.9 heading into the next campaign.
