Greg Kiltie appointed as captain
Greg Kiltie has been appointed as Kilmarnock Football Club captain, the club can confirm.
The 29-year-old, who was voted as Killie’s Player of the Year last season, will wear the armband in the 2026/27 campaign ahead.
The attacking midfielder re-joined his boyhood club last summer from St Mirren, initially signing a two-year deal before his contract was extended until June 2028. He enjoyed a terrific first season back at BBSP Stadium Rugby Park, contributing with four goals and seven assists, becoming a key player for Neil McCann.
“Greg led by example last year,” the manager said. “Not only on the pitch with his performances – of course, he was player of the year. He led with his spirit, his demands and application levels in training. I felt it was a natural choice.
“There were many who could’ve put themselves forward for captain, but I just feel Kilts is a well-liked guy in the dressing room. It’s an armband, and it’s a recognition of his importance to the club, but I’m looking for everyone to step up this year.”
