Golf day 2026

Kilmarnock Football Club was delighted to hold its annual golf day on Monday, March 30th.

The management team, players – past and present – teamed up with our generous sponsors for a day of birdies and bogeys sunk on the pristine greens of the King Robert the Bruce course at Trump Turnberry.

The golfers were treated to a warm welcome in the Duel in the Sun located within the venue’s iconic clubhouse. After enjoying breakfast, with players warming themselves up with a tea or coffee before brisking the chilly coastal conditions, proceedings commenced with a shotgun start at 10am for the Texas Scramble four-ball.

With strong gusts and the odd rain shower, the wrapped-up golfers were thrilled to see Hamilton Tarmac’s Vintage Bus Bar parked up just off the 13th. Alcoholic and soft refreshments were provided in the unique double-decker, with Brownings the Bakers laying on a variety of their tasty pies too – which multiple participants admitted offered some light relief from the tees!

The day ended with everyone back in Duel in the Sun, overlooking the plush fairways of Turnberry – who are a big contributor to the local economy. A lovely two-course meal was enjoyed by all before our very own Robert Dykes, the club’s commercial manager, dished out the awards and prizes.

Tom Lowery picked up the Colin Campbell trophy, which was handed out to the top-performing Kilmarnock player. Annandale Home Improvements claimed top of the leaderboard, as team captain Gary Allison was named golfer of the day for his part in his team’s impressive round.

Gregg McEwan, general manager, said: “Bringing together our committed community of partners is extremely important to the club. We are grateful for their dedicated support throughout the year, so it is always a highlight for them to play such an important part of this event.”
