Goalkeeper Dylan Brown signs first professional deal

Goalkeeper Dylan Brown has penned his first professional deal with Kilmarnock FC.

The shot-stopper, who recently turned 16, has featured prominently for our Under 18’s this season, and has been warming up with our first-team goalkeepers on matchdays.

Die-hard Killie fan Brown, who joined our ranks at the age of eight, has signed the deal at Rugby Park until 2027, he said: “I am delighted to sign my first professional deal, after being here for eight years and coming through the academy it feels great.

“It has been a good journey, I’ve had a lot of help along the way, it’s honestly hard to put into words.

“It’s an emotional day for my family, they’re really proud too.

“I am a Killie fan, they’re the closest team to me and I’ve been a season ticket holder since I was young, that makes it even more special.

“Playing with the Under 18’s has been a great experience, hopefully that continues and I keep getting matches under my belt.

“Dealing with someone like Chris Burke day to day is great, and then someone like Derek McInnes you can’t get any more experienced.

“Fraser Stewart has been huge for me too, he wants everything to be tidy in training so it will be in a match, he has so much experience so it’s great to lean on that.”

Kilmarnock’s head of goalkeeping, Fraser Stewart, said: “We are delighted to get Dylan on board with his first professional contract.

“He’s worked hard through the age groups, but this is where the real hard work starts.

“He’s a Killie fan and an Ayrshire lad, hopefully he’s got a bright future at Rugby Park ahead of him.”
