East Fife 3-2 Kilmarnock B


Kilmarnock B suffered a narrow defeat on the road in the KDM Evolution Trophy against East Fife.

The Bayview side ran our 3-2 victors in a tight clash in Fife.

East Fife took an early lead in the 4th minute as Nathan Austin fired a header past Dylan Brown who couldn’t get a hand to it.

Chances were at a premium until the Fifers took a two-goal lead thanks to Thomas Goss who fired home after 24 minutes.

Two minutes later Euan Bowie narrowed the deficit with a fantastic looping volley from 20 yards to bring it back to 2-1.

Marley Watkins had a great chance after 36 minutes – he fired a volley at goal from close range but it narrowly flew over the crossbar.

Six minutes into the second half East Fife made it 3-1 as Austin slammed a rebound into the roof of the net to double his money.

Samuel Duruh went close on the hour mark as he cut inside on his right foot, his curling effort didn’t quite bend enough to find the top corner but it was a decent effort from the young striker.

Patrick Slattery had a good chance for the hosts in the 79th minute as he fired a low shot at goal from the edge of the box, but Dylan Brown did well to get down and save with a strong hand.

Duncan Barlow pulled one back for Killie 10 minutes from time as he headed in with a powerful effort to make it 3-2.
