David Watson commits future to the club!

Kilmarnock Football Club are delighted to announce that David Watson has committed his future to the club by signing a new two-year contract extension which will keep him at Rugby Park until June 2025.

Watson has been part of the club’s academy for more than a decade and progressed through the ranks to captain both the Under-18 and Reserve teams this season, before making his first-team league debut against Rangers at Ibrox in March.

The 18-year-old hasn’t looked back since being named as Brownings Man of the Match in his home league debut against St Johnstone, having since become a key figure in the heart of midfield.

Commenting on his new deal, Watson said: “Reaching the first-team had been the goal since I joined the club as a 7-year-old, but I feel like my journey here is only just getting started.

“There are so many factors that make Kilmarnock the right place for the next stage of my career. The manager has given me so much belief about what we can achieve over the next two years and I’m excited about the future that lies ahead.”
