‘Bring a Gift’ Day 2022

This Christmas will be a very challenging time for many parents who will struggle to pay the bills, never mind put a present under the tree for their youngsters.

This year, more than ever before, it feels important for our community to work together to put as many smiles on faces as possible throughout the festive period.

Once again, Kilmarnock Football Club will be running the annual Bring a Gift Appeal in partnership with the Kilmarnock FC Supporters Association (KFCSA), East Ayrshire Churches Homelessness Action (EACHa) and the Salvation Army.

The club have been blown away by the generosity of supporters who have selflessly contributed to the annual appeal over the past five years. In consideration of the ongoing cost of living crisis, your magnificent support is again being called upon as we look to make it a Christmas to remember for children of all ages.

This year’s Bring a Gift Appeal will be held at Rugby Park between 11am-2pm on Saturday, 10th December, with a collection point to be set up outside of the Moffat Stand turnstiles across from The Park Hotel.

Gifts for youngsters of all age groups – from babies through to teenagers – will be warmly welcomed. We just politely request that you wrap gifts and mark whether they are for a boy or a girl, and if there’s a specific age range for the present.

After the collection date, gifts will be delivered by the Salvation Army and children’s services to local families in time for Christmas. Your generosity will play a major part in spreading the Christmas cheer to children who would otherwise have little to look forward to on Christmas Day.

Allen Kyle, KFCSA Chairman, commented: “Once again we are delighted to be involved in helping bring joy to kids in Ayrshire who may not have enjoyed Christmas without the help of Kilmarnock fans.

“Last year, we collected an incredible 623 parcels which were distributed to local families via social services. We hope that fans will be as generous as they have been over the past five years since we launched the Xmas appeal.”

Janice Grant, Secretary of EACHa, added: “EACHa is once again delighted to be part of this year’s Bring a Gift Appeal. We are grateful to all the generous Killie fans, who for the last five years have helped brighten Christmas for many local families.”
