Archibald: manager one of many factors that drew me to Killie

New first-team coach Alan Archibald has stated that many factors influenced his move to the club, while admitting that the opportunity to work with former teammate Derek McInnes was a ‘massive pull.”

Commenting from Killie’s pre-season base at Queen’s University in Belfast, Archibald said: “This came out of the blue with Tony moving on and things changing. The manager had a massive pull, obviously. I’ve known him since the early 2000s and always stayed in touch. I was doing Motherwell U18s and reserves, so working with a first-team was a also really big draw.

“I think everyone that visits Rugby Park finds it very welcoming. You got that as either manager or just a spectator coming to the game. There are always good people around the club making you feel really welcome and that’s the main thing.

“We’re all here as a team and the goal at the end of it is to help the first-team manager. I was a manager myself for long enough, so I know how important it is to have good staff around you.”
