AGM 2025: Key Details

The 2025 AGM of The Kilmarnock Football Club Ltd was held in BBSP Stadium, Rugby Park’s 1869 Suite on Monday, March 24.
We’ve provided an overview of what was discussed over the course of the evening.

Financial Review

Our Company Secretary led the financial review as the club posted a loss of £974,000 for the year ending May 31, 2024 – an improvement on last year’s loss by almost £150,000.

Despite the loss, a huge positive was gained in qualification for the Europa League and then UEFA Conference League, with ties played against Cercle Brugge, Tromsø and Copenhagen.

Mr Bryson explained that the aim was to increase the turnover to over £7 million which was achieved.

In terms of the loss, he stated that there was an increase in payroll largely due to bonuses for finishing 4th place and securing European qualification – this coupled with rising costs on admin, matchdays, travel among much more made up a huge percentage of the loss.

Stadium and Infrastructure Review

Stadium Maintenance: We have upgraded the heating and plumbing system in the Frank Beattie Stand, which was essential works.

  • Essential pitch maintenance with new drag matt technology to ensure continued use until conclusion of 2025/26 season ahead of a return to grass in 2026/27.
  • LED Floodlights were installed by DC Lighting to improve energy efficiencies.

Moffat Stand enhancements: Three of the Cabins at the rear of the Moffat Stand were cleared and set up offices for European matches in 2024. Academy Staff will move into these.

  • 9-a-side pitch works will commence in May and be completed early July 2025, will be a great space for academy and community activity.

Mr Bowie insists that this project will be entirely funded by himself as he wishes to leave a legacy for the football club.

Commercial Operations Review

Season ticket growth: We have worked hard over the last 6 years to increase the season ticket holder base from 2,276 in 2019/20 to 5,312 this current season.

The loyalty of those who renew year on year will be rewarded with 2025/26 Season Ticket pricing, which will be revealed within the next month.

Our intention was to change the demographic of our Season Ticket holder share – we did this by creating the youth pathway and ensuring our fastest growing portion was our youngest fans.

The youth pathway now represents 35% of the ST base, making them the largest demographic.

Hospitality: Revitalised hospitality packages and in-house offering has been well received with turnover up over 200% from 2019/20.

Partnership update: We have entered year-three of our major partnerships, with James Frew, BBSP, Hamilton Tarmac, RedRock, Blackwood Plant Hire, A&L Mechanical and the Killie Trust all signed up until 2026/27.

Commercial revenue has increased with the addition of Robert Dykes to the team – revenue from partnership & advertising sales up over 100% in 7 years.

Retail: We have taken retail operations back in house June 2020 with the ambitious target of turnover £500k within 5 years. We have eclipsed this within 3 years and now working towards an annual turnover of £1m+.

The bespoke designs that working with Hummel allow us to create has been a massive factor in increased sales – there is a big focus in ensuring products are ethically manufactured.

The Killie LTD Range has become our best-selling bespoke range to date with a re-vamp to range coming in Spring.

We’re now entering our fifth year in partnership with Technical Kit Partners,

Hummel – shirt sales have grown from 2,800 to almost 9,000 in 2023/24.

Killie in the Community

Killie Trust: The Trust relationship with the Club continues to prosper, 7 years later since a representative was opted onto the Club Board.

Football Operations Review

Men’s first team: Securing European football was a huge achievement for the club – a focus has been placed on youth players moving into the first team with a number of young players now training regularly with the men’s squad.

Women’s first team: Phyllis Carroll has been appointed to the SWPL board for the second year. Women’s first team challenging at the top of SWPL2 with an aim of being promoted.

Academy: Boys’ and Girls’ academies have produced a number of internationals across the age groups. Men’s Under 18s competing at the top of CAS Elite League and getting set to play in Scottish Youth Cup final at Hampden which will be live on BBC Scotland.
