Falkirk Women (A) Match Preview

Falkirk (A) – SPWPL2 Matchday 9

Sunday, October 25 – 4pm
The Falkirk Stadium, Falkirk

Killie Women travel to The Falkirk Stadium this Sunday as we look to return to winning ways in the SPWPL2.

Jim Chapman’s side sit third in the table, two points ahead of fourth-placed Falkirk heading into the meeting.

LAST TIME OUT

KILMARNOCK

Killie suffered a 3-1 defeat away to Queen’s Park last Sunday.

Louise Cowan opened the scoring after six minutes, but the hosts responded through Ellie Kane before Rebecca McAllister’s penalty put them ahead. Ciara Bonner added a third shortly after the interval to secure the points for Queen’s Park.

Ruby Morrison made her Killie debut as a late substitute following her loan move from Celtic.

The result leaves us with 16 points from our opening eight league fixtures, having recorded five wins, one draw and two defeats.

FALKIRK

Falkirk also head into Sunday’s fixture looking to respond to a defeat after losing 2-0 away to Boroughmuir Thistle last weekend.

First-half goals from Amy Denholm and Fiona Gibson proved decisive at Meadowbank Stadium.

The Bairns have collected 14 points from eight league matches and have won their last three home league fixtures, beating Livingston, Gartcairn and Renfrew. Their most recent home outing brought a 5-1 victory over Renfrew earlier this month.

PREVIOUS MEETING

Killie ran out 3-0 winners when the sides met at The Falkirk Stadium in the Sky Sports Cup in August.

Eilidh Martin, Skye Stout and Cara Gray were on target as we secured victory and a clean sheet.
