Kilmarnock Women celebrate new Superdrug partnership

Health and beauty retailer Superdrug announced the official opening of its newest store at Queen’s Drive Retail Park, Kilmarnock, alongside a new partnership with Kilmarnock FC Women.

The collaboration will see Superdrug support Kilmarnock FC Women through a training wear partnership, with the brand featured on the team’s training kits.

Our team is one of the oldest Scottish women’s football clubs and turned professional in 2022. To celebrate the store opening, club captain Laura McLaughlin, Eilidh Martin and Holly Kerrigan were in attendance to cut the ribbon and meet and greet customers on the day.

The launch has created 20 new permanent jobs and marks a significant milestone in the retailer’s continued investment in its bricks-and-mortar estate. Spanning 9,500 sq ft, the new store has been designed as a destination for health, beauty and wellbeing, and forms part of Superdrug’s wider growth strategy, which includes the opening of 30 new stores across the UK in 2026.

The opening is particularly significant as it marks Superdrug’s 100th retail park store. The new location brings an enhanced shopping experience to Kilmarnock and provides a welcome boost for local shoppers and the wider community.

On its opening day, Wednesday, June 24, the first 100 customers through the doors received a complimentary goodie bag filled with must-have beauty products. An in-store DJ set the vibe throughout the day, to enhance the shopping experience. Superdrug will also be offering a special Health & Beautycard promotion for new sign-ups, alongside 20 percent off beauty services during the first two weeks of opening.

Located within one of East Ayrshire’s busiest retail destinations, Queens Drive Retail Park attracts visitors from across the region thanks to its convenient location, free parking and strong mix of national retailers. The new Superdrug store further strengthens the retail offering in the area and is set to become a go-to destination for health, beauty and wellbeing.

Killie Women’s manager, Jim Chapman, said: “We are delighted to have the support of Superdrug as one of our training wear partners for the upcoming season.Women’s football is the fastest growing sport in the world and the support of a major brand is a huge endorsement for all the efforts our girls put in.

“The football club has always been a real focal point of the area for a long time and with the likes of Superdrug opening its 100th retail park store in Kilmarnock, it also shows that big things are happening throughout the town.

Superdrug’s Chief Operating Officer, Simon Comins, added: “Opening our new store at Queen’s Drive Retail Park, Kilmarnock, is a proud moment for Superdrug as we celebrate our 100th retail park store and eighth new store opening this year.
