Match Preview: Hibernian (H)
William Hill Scottish Premiership – Matchday 21
Saturday 3rd – January – 3:00pm | BBSP Stadium Rugby Park, Kilmarnock
Last Time Out: Killie
Killie were left frustrated as we surrendered a first-half lead in a 2–1 defeat against Dundee at Dens Park on Tuesday night. Dundee started brightly, with Charlie Reilly testing Tobi Oluwayemi twice in the opening stages, our goalkeeper saving one effort while the other went narrowly over. Killie responded well and had a good chance in the 12th minute when Bruce Anderson found space inside the box, but his effort flew over the bar. Our pressure paid off in the 38th minute when Brad Lyons threaded a superb through ball into Greg Kiltie, who finished calmly to give us the lead at the break. However, we were unable to build on that advantage in the second half. Dundee grew into the game and equalised just before the hour mark through Ashley Hay’s header, before completing the comeback in the 73rd minute when Reilly curled home.
Last Time Out: Hibs
Hibernian closed out 2025 with an impressive 2–0 victory over Aberdeen in Leith, delivering a dominant second-half performance after a tight opening period. With little to separate the sides early on, both teams had half-chances before Hibs began to assert control following the break, repeatedly testing Mitov and building sustained pressure. The breakthrough came on 59 minutes when Youan combined smartly with Campbell before picking out Klidje to finish from close range. Hibs continued to threaten, limiting Aberdeen to minimal opportunities, and sealed the win in stoppage time as Hoilett latched onto Mulligan’s lay-off to beat Mitov at the near post. The result secured back-to-back home wins and six crucial points from a demanding week for Hibs.
