Match preview: Hearts (H)

William Hill Scottish Premiership – Game Week 8

Saturday  18th October – 5:45pm | BBSP Stadium Rugby Park, Kilmarnock

Last Time Out: Killie

Kilmarnock secured back-to-back league wins with a 2-0 victory over St Mirren. After a quiet opening half-hour, Bruce Anderson’s shot was saved by Shamal George, but David Watson reacted quickest to fire home the rebound. Marcus Dackers doubled the lead soon after, heading in a superb James Brown cross. Dackers came close again early in the second half and later set up Djenairo Daniels, who couldn’t convert, but Killie comfortably saw out the match for a well-deserved win under Stuart Kettlewell.

Last Time Out: Hearts
Hearts claimed a dramatic late win in the first Edinburgh derby of the season as Craig Halkett struck in the final moments to seal a 1-0 victory over Hibernian at Tynecastle. In blustery conditions following Storm Amy, both sides battled hard with few clear chances, though Alexander Schwolow and Raphael Sallinger made key saves to keep the game level. Stuart Findlay produced a crucial goal-line clearance to deny Martin Boyle before Hearts pushed for a winner, and Sabah Kerjota’s deep cross found Halkett unmarked at the back post to finish coolly and secure a third straight win, sending the Jambos five points clear at the top of the table.
