McCrorie: I’m only focused on getting result for Kilmarnock

Robby McCrorie insists that a return to Ibrox won’t faze him – he is only focusing on getting a result for Kilmarnock.

The goalkeeper grew up in the Ibrox setup before moving to Rugby Park in the summer, and he’s set to return to Govan for the first time since leaving.

But that isn’t his focus as he’s looking to help Killie bounce back from a run of four games without a win.

McCrorie said: “I’ve not really thought about it too much, just because of how many games we’ve played lately. I don’t really know what it’s going to be like.

“The main thing is obviously I’m going there as a Kilmarnock player and want to get a good result for Kilmarnock.

“I get on with a lot of people there, but on Wednesday I am going there for football purposes and it’s important for us to get a result, there’s a lot of games coming up and there’s no break so we need to pick up points and gain some momentum.”

McCrorie added: “Playing in games like Wednesday shows why I was right to make the move I did.

“It was an easy move for me. I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way, but it was and it’s one that I’d been wanting for a while.

“I’m thankful for it, the gaffer did a lot, people in the club here did a lot to make it happen. I’m enjoying it now, I’m on a run of games. I just want to keep improving, I’ve got high expectations of where I want to go.

“I work hard, so I want to be the best I can be and playing is a part of that. I feel like I’m a better goalkeeper now since getting regular football, I am still improving and can do more.

“I am loving it at Kilmarnock, there’s a lot of good people here. Everyone mucks in together to try and do what’s best for the club. That’s what I like, I’m that kind of person. I just want to do well and work hard.”
