We are on the hunt for the next Rabbie Burns
Nowhere does Robert Burns quite like Ayrshire and we want to hear from our budding young bards, aged between 5 and 12 years old.
The Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust (KCST) are calling on our young fans to channel their inner Burns and pen a short poem that expresses their feelings about the mighty Ayrshire Killie.
As the county’s premier football team mark our 150th Anniversary, we want to give a nod to one of Ayrshire’s great sons with 2019 signalling 260 years since his birth.
As well as Robert, another famous and well-loved man by the name of Burns featured heavily in the history of the town and club so we’re sure you will have plenty of material to play with as you create your own special Kilmarnock Edition.
The winner of the competition will get the chance to read their poem out in front of the Killie crowd at next Saturday’s Scottish Cup fourth round tie against Forfar Athletic on Saturday, January 19.
All entries should be sent to Grant Moore at grantmoore@kilmarnockfc.co.uk
